High-Value Evidence Preservation in China

In March 2021, BSA filed a software copyright infringement case with the IP Tribunal of Chengdu Intermediate People’s Court against a state-owned enterprise. In April 2021, the Chengdu IP Tribunal conducted a highly successful evidence preservation action that found approximately USD$1.7M in unlicensed BSA member software. BSA is now negotiating a settlement with this company while proceeding with litigation in parallel.
