Antonio Eduardo Mendes da Silva, known in the market as Pitanga, is BSA’s Country Manager for Brazil, where he supports BSA’s end-user copyright enforcement, educational programs to promote software license compliance and respect for intellectual property, works with members to develop BSA’s policy and government affairs initiatives on a range of regulatory and legislative issues including privacy, cybersecurity, copyright, and digital trade.
Pitanga has more than 28 years’ experience in the software market and worked for many years at Microsoft and Autodesk. He is also a board of advisors’ member of ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies). He holds a degree in electronic engineering from the São Paulo State University, a postgraduate degree in marketing from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, and an MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral. He also concluded a policy course, Strategy Beyond Markets (Building Reputation and Competitive Advantage), at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
